Development Services

The Development Services arm of City government provides a unified framework for a number of departments that must work in close coordination with each other. Standards for the development or use of properties within the City limits, both public and private, are defined by numerous Federal, State and local ordinances and statutes. The staff members of the various divisions of Development Services have the necessary expertise to interpret and apply those standards so that the requirements and goals of the City’s Master Plan are met, and to see that those requirements are fair and consistent. City departments or areas that fall under the Development Services umbrella include Planning, Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Neighborhood Services and Grants Administration. Each division has its own critical role to play in the overall development picture. A project or action initiated by one of these departments can have implications that require the involvement of any, perhaps even all, of the others.

The City is updating our Hazard Mitigation Plan to continue to recognize and meet those dangers, but we need your help.  Please follow the link below or use your smartphone to scan the QR code and take about 5 minutes to complete a confidential and anonymous survey to let us know what hazards concern you the most and what you think we should be doing to prepare for them.
